(More details and photos to follow soon)
62 riders turned up at Sungai Tekala early in the morning to take part in the inaugural PCC Time Trial - 15.2km of pure spinning pleasure alongside the picturesque Semeyih Dam Lake, on rolling roads with a (slightly) nasty 750m long climb after 2km or so.
MEN
In the mens race the top two finished almost 90 seconds clear of the third-placed rider, with Danny Feng (23:52) beating Cort Prois by a mere 4 seconds to win with an average speed of 38.2kph. Danny snapped his chain while cycling to the start suggesting that he has a fair bit of power in his legs - and this was backed up by his victory.
Robert Herries (25:25) finished third overall and won the mens 35-44 age category by 35s from Shaharin b. Razali.
In the mens 45+ category Gary Choong from P2K (25:30) pipped Andy Massie by 10s to take the win.
14-year old Yeoh Chin Hoe had a good day, winning the mens under-19 category in 33:21 and then winning a Polar heart-rate monitor in the lucky draw.
A mention must also go to 12-year old Zaim Teh, who finished in a creditable 38:00 - only time will tell how fast he'll be when he's 16!
WOMEN
In the womens category it was a case of experience over youth, as riders from the 35-44 category took the top three spots.
With considerable help from her legs, Wendy Wong's Cervelo P3 brought her home in 28:17, over a minute faster than second-placed Karen Hales.
The fastest from the 25-34 group was Ng Shwu(-macher) Huey in 34:51, 17s ahead of Lai May Senn.
Tammy Hopkins (44:46) came first (and last!) in the F45+ group.
Another mention must surely go to Reena Chan, whose market-going bike finished in a respectable time. Just by wearing the aero helmet she won later in the lucky draw, she'll knock a couple of minutes of her next time!
PCC
Amongst the PCC-riders, Bernard Tan clocked the fastest time (28:33), with second-placed Karen Hales beating the rest of the bunch in 29:32.

Many thanks to Adrian and team. Many thanks to the volunteers there, Melody, Edele, Laif (who was very concern on my near pass out due to lack of cooling down. Looking forward to next Time Trail.
